
Introduction
At St. Vincent’s we provide the opportunity for all pupils to have full access to the National Curriculum.
In addition to the Core and Foundation Curriculum, our pupils have access to an
extended curriculum, which ensures that their particular needs are met, as such it
is broad, balanced and focussed on both the statutory requirements and the individual
needs of our pupils.
These pages give information about the curriculum, Key Stage provision, individual subject content and accreditation pathways.
The Core Curriculum is the compulsory element of the National Curriculum and
involves the study of English, Mathematics, Science and Information and Communication
Technology.
The Statutory Foundation Curriculum includes; Religious Education, Physical
Education, Food Technology, Design Technology, Geography, History, Art and Design,
Music, Citizenship, Personal, Social and Health Education and Citizenship.
The Extended Curriculum offers our pupils individual programmes in Mobility,
Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Music Therapy, Individual tuition
in Braille and Independence Skills as and if required.
The 24 Hour Curriculum This is provided to those pupils who access the residential
provision of the school.
