Foundation Stage
Creative development in art explores colour, texture, shape, space, form and line in both 2D and 3D, using a variety of techniques and materials.
Children are encouraged to express and communicate their own ideas, thoughts and feelings through creative activities.
Key Stage 1 and 2
Pupils follow the National Curriculum and develop their creativity and imagination by exploring the tactile, sensory and visual (if able) qualities of materials and processes.
Children use many different materials and techniques including drawing, painting collage, print making, sculpture, textiles model making and ICT.
Key Stage 3
Art at KS3 provides pupils with the opportunity to extend their creativity by working with a greater variety of materials and techniques, individually and collaboratively.
Pupils work on different modules each half term using drawing, painting, textiles, sculpture, pottery, collage, print making, model making and ICT processes.
Work can be on a large scale and may be developed through a number of stages, from planning through to completion, over a long period of time.
Braillists are encouraged to use their Braille as an art form in both 2D and 3D work.
Key Stage 4
If Art is taken as an integrated option at Key Stage 4 students are entered for AQA GCSE and Entry Level Certificate.
